Gone are the days of small separate rooms, with the vast majority of people longing for open plan kitchen, dining and living all in the one bright and airy space. Pat and Pauline were no exception.
Altho the island is big, the actual main kitchen is quit small, this is exactly what they wanted. We were able to achieve this with attentive dialogue and cleverly designing a small but extremely accessible utility room with bi-folding doors to the side of the kitchen.
This allowed us to strip back what was required in the kitchen and thus giving us the opportunity to include some elaborate features like the curved ends, bespoke cooker hood and the sliding sash windows.
This house is west facing, light floods into the new living space thanks to a combination of the sizeable Aluclad lift and slide back doors and roof light windows.
The seamless blend of modern materials such as the quartz worktops and aluclad doors with the more traditional ornate features like the sash windows and the victorian style skirting gives this a timeless feel.
